Release Manager

The Release Manager will work across multi-disciplinary teams, and as such the postholder must manage relationships and co-ordinate projects between teams. The Release Manager plans release windows and the overall release lifecycle of Coatsink games. Responsible for managing risks that may affect release scope, the postholder will also communicate all key project plans, commitments, and changes, including requirements.

Responsibilities and Activities (not an exhaustive list)

  • Work alongside Production to maintain a schedule for title releases.• Work alongside Production to maintain a schedule for title releases.• Manage submissions and delivery to First Parties, including:
    • New project setup on various First Party Platforms, including proof of concept and GDD submissions
    • DLC creation and setup• Store and pricing submissions
    • Game Preview and Game Pass setup
    • Briefing creative requirements for each platform
    • Onboarding on new platforms where relevant
  • Construct project milestones, taking the project’s design and concept and devising a clear development path that will see its completion, including concept submission, product setup, updating portal configuration during development and the submission of store metadata.
  • Prepare all materials required for a successful submission to platform holder certification and providing detailed feedback and advice throughout the submission.
  • Act in a project management capacity, to co-ordinate with all project stakeholders to help establish a detailed road map for every release and working with relevant parties to make sure all release milestone deliverables are met.
  • Carry out risk analysis on all stages of the release process with a view to mitigating all risks.
  • Provide support to the relevant Producer and the QA Manager to make sure that all console titles are defect free and are suitable for submission to platform holders.
  • Provide exceptional support to Coatsink’s partners from the concept stage through to post release.
  • Maintain an up-to-date and comprehensive working knowledge of all platform holder certification requirements, submission processes and documentation.
  • Liaise with the QA Manager and the QA team to ensure each project is ready for certification.
  • Prepare and submit materials to acquire the required age ratings for each release.
  • Promote our Coatsink values and behaviours.


Key Attributes, Skills and Experience

  • A Degree in a related field, or similar level experience A Degree in a related field, or similar level experience
  • An understanding of computer software and/or programming
  • Strong project management experience
  • Knowledge of global age rating bodies
  • Excellent knowledge of the submission/release process for Sony, Microsoft, Nintendo, PC Platforms and have successfully delivered multiple titles from concept to final release.
  • Advanced verbal and written communication skills which includes –
    • The ability to communicate problems and understand the requirements of the development teams
    • The ability to clarify and escalate relevant issues where level of risk is under-estimated.
  • Leadership qualities
  • A methodical, organised approach to tasks.
  • The ability to work as part of a team as well as work independently.
  • Imaginative and creative approach to work
  • Attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines.
  • The ability to devise good working practices and a proactive approach to problem solving.

  • Experience in quality assurance.
  • Experience and knowledge of the required communication procedures relating to all game development issues.
