We’re looking for a
Senior Concept Artist
Alongside the Creative Art Director you help to shape the visual identity and style of our games. You’re one of the first to get started in pre-production, doing sketches, drawings and paintings. You’re a creative ideas machine who enjoys the process of visual design, alongside and pushing the team forward with expectation for you to iterate on ideas and adapt to new ones.
It is expected that you will have a strong design sense and an excellent grasp on the fundamentals of art including perspective, lighting, design, composition and colour. Communication and teamwork are very important, as is working under time constraints and as a senior you’ll be expected to manage more of your own time.
We are looking for someone who can uphold the vision of the Creative Art Director on given projects, maintain style direction and offer feedback/guidance to the art team.

Responsibilities & Tasks
- Work closely with the Creative Art Director to carry out in-depth research and establish a style, mood, and aesthetic for all visual aspects of the game.
- You have a wide visual library and can tap into this alongside your project reference and research material. You’ll be designing characters, creatures, environments, and provide detailed drawings of assets such as props, weapons, and collectibles.
- The work you produce inspires and informs the rest of the team, and often acts as a base of inspiration for other departments to get started.
- During production you’ll continue to help the 3D team with scene paint overs and provide additional concepts that may be required.
- Can support junior concept artists with feedback and support.
Person Specification
Required Experience
- Must have a portfolio of work demonstrating excellent artistic skills and a good mind for innovative visual design.
- 3+ years of education and training as an artist.
- Knowledge of digital drawing/painting software such as Photoshop or equivalent.
- A strong draughtsperson with a clear grasp of perspective, form, structure and line control.
- A strong painter with a clear understanding of lighting and colour relationships.
Preferred/Desirable Experience of
- 3+ shipped title in console/PC/VR development.
- Knowledge of industry standard 3D software.
- 5+ years of games industry experience.
- 1+ years of VR development.
- Strong knowledge of visualising environments with game design and limitations.

- Ability to interact and communicate across all disciplines and with colleagues effectively.
- Strong problem solving skills.
- Ability to manage time and prioritise tasks effectively.
- Can work independently and is a confident communicator in meetings.
