The Time To Act Is Now!

As Coatsink turns 10, we reflect upon the last decade and consider how we’ve grown and changed as a team and as a company, taking pride in the progress we’ve made and  great things we’ve achieved.

We also reflect upon how the world has changed over that same decade, the strides made and losses suffered. There have been some significant shifts in opinion, priorities and outlook.

Inevitably, we look to the future and question, what’s next?

Coatsink Go Green Pledge

The science is irrefutable, we are in the midst of a Climate Emergency. The world needs to unite behind a common goal to do all we can to avert this crisis and, at Coatsink, we want to be part of the solution, not part of the problem. 

Our Mission, as it always has been, is to “Create great games that players love” and our Vision remains unchanged in that, “We use our creative freedom to produce high quality indie games”.

However, we will also be taking the time to look at our impact on the planet and whether we are a force for good in the world.

We are pledging our commitment to be mindful of our environmental impacts, to act more sustainably as a team, and give back to a planet that has given us all so much.

What we’re doing

We’re already having less staff commuting to work by car as Coatsink adopts a hybrid working policy shared between remote and on-site working. We’ve also introduced a cycle to work scheme and will be taking less flights to and from events.

We have appointed a working group of sustainability advocates, launched an internal “swap shop” to encourage reusing of existing items and a reduction in consumption of new items and have chosen an environmental charity to support.

But this is just the beginning and we know we still have a lot of work to do.
