What is Coatsink£10K?

We’re passionate about so many important causes and charities that as part of our 10 year anniversary celebrations, we are aiming to raise £10,000 spread across 4 charities between now and the end of 2021.

There are a number of different events and initiatives planned, so there will be plenty of opportunities to get involved and donate. Keep your eyes on our social media channels for more information.

We’re excited to be able to give back to the gaming community and beyond, whilst supporting environmental conservation and the LGBTQIA+ community.

The charities we’ve chosen are:

• Special Effect
• Safe in our World
• The Ocean Cleanup
• Kaleidoscope Trust

Special Effect

By using technology ranging from modified joypads to eye-control, Special Effect are finding ways for people to play games to the very best of their abilities. But they’re not just doing it for fun. By levelling the playing field, they’re bringing families and friends together by having a profoundly positive impact on quality of life.

Safe in Our World

In 2019 the charity Safe In Our World was born. Their mission is to foster positive mental health wellbeing and deliver support, not only for players but also developers, publishers, retailers and the other incredible folk and teams who make up the video games industry. Their goal is for the industry to come together and start a conversation that can change lives.

Safe in Our World – #Coatsink10 Walk-a-thon

We’re kicking off our fundraising efforts by attempting to walk 10,000 miles as a team by the end of 2021. We understand the importance of taking a break from the screens and getting some fresh air and some exercise so we decided to combine this with teamwork and charity. Ocean Cleanup

The Ocean Cleanup, a non-profit organization, is developing advanced technologies to rid the world’s oceans of plastic. When they have achieved their goal of a 90% reduction in ocean plastic, their project is finished and their work will be done.

Kaleidoscope Trust

Established in 2011, Kaleidoscope Trust is a UK-based charity focused on fighting for the human rights of LGBT+ people across the Commonwealth. They fund, fight for and empower those upholding the human rights of LGBT+ people by working with governments, change-makers and civil society organisations to effect meaningful and lasting change in the lives of LGBT+ people everywhere.
